I sit here sad, pissed off and disappointed. Not because Mitt Romney lost or even the fact that Obama won. Romney wasn't my first, second or even third choice for President but he was the best choice I had to choose from that had a chance of winning, that best represented my beliefs and values. I'm sad that the country I grew up in is no more. A country where God, country and family ...came first above all other things. Pissed off that we have become a nation where it's all about individuals instead of the greater good of the country. We are no longer one nation UNITED, we are many individuals divided. Divided by a man who pledged to unite us but instead pitted the rich versus middle class and poor, blacks and Latinos versus whites, non religious versus religious, pro choice versus pro life, pro gay marriage versus anti gay marriage. I am disappointed that as a country we have lowered our values and standards as a majority to appease the minority. Disappointed that a man of strong morals and character is ridiculed and attacked for sticking to his beliefs and doing the right things while we embrace those of immoral character. Disappointed that people are more concerned by what they can get for free then freedom itself. I guess Mayberry USA is gone forever...
Ignoring the political side of this, cause my feelings on that is no secret at all, I love what this person said about being disappointed that someone with strong morals is ridiculed and those with immoral characters are embraced. It saddens me!
Yesterday there were people defending a polling station breaking the law!! Polling stations are not to have any political anything showing and one, somewhere, had a huge uncovered mural of Obama. Yes, the mural was there first. blah blah blah.... It's still illegal that it was left uncovered. A (different) friend of a (different) friend told her that it was immature to have an outcry that it was uncovered. Really? It's immature to force people to follow the law? When did that kind of immoral thinking begin?
When I grew up I could ride my bike all over my neighborhood. I walked to school many blocks away. There was no worries. Now I'm scared to let my kids ride their bikes around our mobile home park because of the "what if's". Immoral behavior is prevalent and accepted. It's horrible!!
Okay, I couldn't ignore the political side. Sorry. I just can't do it. His entire everything is based on causing a divide between the economic and social classes!! Black vs white vs Hispanic vs whatever.... It's ridiculous!! I am deeply ashamed that he was reelected! My firm belief is that the majority of people who voted for him voted with the "me" mentality instead of voting for the country. There are exceptions to this, as there is with anything. But when you hear soundbites from people saying they voted for him because now they don't have to pay their mortgage or now they get a "free" cell phone, etc... it's SCARY AS HELL!!!!!
I am very scared to see what will happen to this country over the next 4 years. You should be too!
