Moving on...

We are doing our best to move on from K's molestation and Champaign County, Ohio's refusal to do anything about it.

A has been commissioned to do a painting for one of the prosecutors in Champaign County (not the office we were dealing with). He's getting involved at our church and also started doing some writing. I have started a blog to share them as they are quite profound. I'm still trying to come up with a good title for the blog so right now it's just "Profound Thoughts of TK's Husband". I don't always agree with his thoughts, but I do think they are worth sharing.

S was placed in the class that was formerly the gifted program. His school had to stop the gifted program but was able to retain the teacher and they make sure that the kids who would have place in gifted are placed in her class. He's thriving in this class and is being sufficiently challenged. He loves going to school each day. Most days he tries to leave before the doors would even be open. LOL He's reading on a high school level (he's in 5th grade) so it is really hard to keep him in books that are on a high enough level but doesn't have material he's not ready for. Currently he's REALLY into WWII stuff. He's reading a lot of nonfiction about WWII, he's reading some of my dad's old books, etc... He's a little sponge.

K is also thriving in her Kindergarten class. She's learning to read and do simple math. It's so cute to listen to her read! She flips some of her letters and numbers backwards and stuff so we'll need to keep an eye on it to make sure is just her being too fast and not dyslexia. We have to be careful now when we're on facebook or something cause she will come up behind us and start trying to sound out words. She (and S) got a tablet for Christmas and she really likes to play the learning games on it. This makes me happy cause I know neither child gets their love of learning from me. Their love of reading and electronics, yes but not their love of school and learning.

As for me, I'm just trying to get back into the groove of things. I was babysitting outside of our house for a couple months so I was gone more than I was here. Now I'm trying to get back into a SAHM routine while also either trying to find children to babysit at my house or finding an outside of the home job that's 9a-3p. We'll see how it goes.Other than that, I'm just trying to deal with this arctic crap we're going through and how it's affecting my pain levels with fibromyalgia. Some days all I can do is sit on the couch. Other days I'm able to be active. Short version is it SUCKS!!!

Hope anyone reading this has a blessed day.
