Year in Review

Here we are again, New Year's Eve.A time when many choose to reflect on the year gone by and decide what they wanna do differently in the year to come.

In January, I decided I wanted to lose some weight. I fell (well) below my goal weight but I did manage to lose some pounds and inches so I count that as a win.

In April, our floor fell from under us when we found out that K had been molested. However through this S & K got much closer and get along more than they fight now. Also through this, I have begun to lean more on Him. I'm still FAR from perfect but everyday I try a little harder. Have to take the positives out of it so don't dwell on the negatives.

In May (along with hitting my lowest weight), I discovered a new store that I am in love with. Also, more importantly, Hubby and I got to have an amazing date where we went to see LesMis in Columbus on stage. Having never seen any version before, I was SO confused but it was worth it to make Hubby happy.

In August, we left our trailer and moved into a house. We changed cities as well. It has been an amazing thing! Fewer bad memories linger here so that promotes healing. The house is very centrally located with our friends, church, Hubby's work, and so on. This is awesome because we are able to see some of our friends more frequently now that we're closer to them.

Slowly over the year, we've had to step back and let go of our relationship with M. He made choices that resulted in us not being able to allow him to come anywhere near S or K which means Hubby and I have had to cut off contact as well. I still love him and miss him, despite his choices. When he decides to own up to them and seek help, we will accept him with open arms. There are just certain things that cannot be allowed around the younger two.

We have a new addition to our family. K got a kitten RB. She's adorable and K is thrilled to have her own pet. (the older 4 animals don't go around K much. she's too hyper for them)

All in all I am very much looking forward to a new year. I pray it's calmer than 2013. I'm not sure could handle much more upheaval.
